Where it all began
Pyronexus is established to build on proven innovations in biochar production and accelerate their deployment at commercial scale. Our work draws on breakthrough pyrolysis technology co-developed by Dr. Juan Proaño for converting waste biomass into high-quality biochar. This modular, shipping-container-based reactor design demonstrated strong potential for carbon sequestration and participation in carbon removal markets.
Pyronexus is an independent company that integrates its own operational expertise, project development capabilities, and market-driven approach with pyrolysis technology. Through an ongoing technical and advisory collaboration, Dr. Juan Proaño supports Pyronexus’ R&D division, contributing to continued innovation across diverse biochar projects.

Pyronexus has a research team based in Fort Worth, Texas, providing consulting services to evaluate waste biomass and resulting biochar. The goal is to maximize value, improve applications, and unlock new market opportunities.
The BiocharXchange LLC, a wholly-owned PYRONEXUS subsidiary, serves as the company’s biochar hub, the go-to place to buy, sell, or understand the pulse of the global biochar market.
